OBTAIN A COPY OF A BB35 VETERAN'S MILITARY RECORD
From the Federal Personnel Record Center, in St Louis, you might be able to obtain a copy of your relatives US Navy service record.
Obtain Veteran's Service Number: Having your relative's service number will give you the best chance for finding the service record. If your relative was aboard in
- 1942-1945, the service number can be obtained from records that are aboard BB35 by contacting raymond.bloxom@tpwd.state.tx.us
- All other periods: Contact the National Archives at inquire@nara.gov and ask for the page from the following TEXAS document on which your relative's name appears.
- If an officer, the monthly officer's section the deck log or if enlisted, the quarterly enlisted muster roll. Specify ship name "Battleship TEXAS", Hull number "BB35", document type and time period (ie January 1944 deck log or 3rd quarter 1943 quarterly muster role).
- NARA will mail an order form (in approx 4 weeks).
- Allow 6 additional weeks to receive the document once you mail the order form
